Remittance inflow rises 13.5pc in first three months of FY27

Workers' remittance inflow to Bangladesh increased by 13.5 percent year-on-year to US$8.357 billion during the July 1-September 28 period of the current fiscal year (FY27).

According to the latest Bangladesh Bank data, the country received US$7.365 billion in remittances during the corresponding period of FY26.

The latest inflow represents an increase of US$992 million over the same period last year, indicating a continued strong flow of remittances during the early months of FY27.

Of the total, Bangladesh received US$2.532 billion in workers' remittances during September 1-28, compared with US$2.465 billion in the corresponding period of 2025, registering 2.7 percent year-on-year growth.

On September 28 alone, expatriate Bangladeshis sent home US$98 million in remittances.

The continued growth in workers' remittances is contributing to the country's foreign exchange inflows and supporting the overall external-sector position.
