Rice Distributed to Disaster-Hit Families in Feni

Free rice was distributed today among 360 poor and vulnerable families affected by various natural disasters in Feni Municipality area.

The distribution programme was organized by Feni Municipality at the municipal premises. Member of Parliament for Feni-2 Professor Zainal Abedin VP attended the event as the chief guest and handed over rice to the beneficiaries.

The programme was chaired by Municipal Administrator and Deputy Director of the Local Government Division Md. Dildarul Alam.

Among others, Municipal Executive Officer Md. Samsul Islam, Executive Engineer Md. Zakir Uddin, Convener of Feni Sadar Upazila BNP Fazlur Rahman Bokul, Municipal Convener Delwar Hossain Babul, Member Secretary of Feni Sadar Upazila BNP Aman Uddin Kaiser Sabbir, and Joint Convener Tapan Kar were present.

Addressing the gathering, Prof. Zainal Abedin said the government's foremost responsibility is to provide comprehensive support to poor people by creating employment opportunities, ensuring food security and improving infrastructure, including transportation.

Municipal Administrator Md. Dildarul Alam said a total of 36 metric tons of rice would be distributed among 3,600 beneficiaries across the municipality's 18 wards, with each recipient receiving 10 kilograms of rice.

Of them, 360 beneficiaries received their allocations on Tuesday.
