Road accident victims get Tk 77 lakh aid in Joypurhat
Bangladesh Road Transport Authority (BRTA) has distributed financial assistance totaling Taka 77 lakh among 21 families affected by a road accident in Joypurhat, under its Road Transport Act Trust Fund. The cheques were formally handed over on Saturday afternoon at a ceremony held in the conference room of the Joypurhat Deputy Commissioner's Office.
State Minister for Public Administration and Food Abdul Bari distributed the financial support to the victim's families as the chief guest. According to officials, the Trust Fund provides Taka 5 lakh to the families of those killed in road accidents, Taka 3 lakh for critically injured victims and Taka 1 lakh for injured individuals.
Among others present at the ceremony were Joypurhat Deputy Commissioner Md. Al Mamun Mia, Zila Parishad Administrator Masud Rana Pradhan and BRTA Inspector Ram Krishna Poddar, along with government and private officials, political representatives, civil society members, and beneficiaries.
