Speakers urge vigilance against anti-state forces
Speakers at a memorial meeting have called for vigilance against anti-state and anti-democratic forces.
Khulna city and district units of Jatiyatabadi Chhatra Dal (JCD) organised the meeting on Thursday afternoon at the city BNP office marking July Martyrs' Day.
Addressing the meeting as the chief guest, Khulna City BNP President and KDA Chairman Advocate Shafiqul Alam Mona said the July Mass Uprising was a united resistance against fascism, corruption, enforced disappearances, killings, repression, and the denial of voting rights.
He said the sacrifices of the martyrs had created a new opportunity to establish the people's democratic aspirations and added that their sacrifices must not be allowed to go in vain.
Speaking as the keynote speaker, Khulna City BNP General Secretary and BCB Director Shafiqul Alam Tuhin urged Chhatra Dal activists to uphold the spirit of the July-August movement and remain vigilant against forces seeking to destabilise the country.
The meeting, chaired by Khulna Metropolitan Chhatra Dal Convener and July Movement activist Md Tajim Biswas, was also addressed by Metropolitan BNP Organising Secretaries Md Masud Parvez Babu and Chowdhury Hasanur Rashid Miraj, journalist leader Mizanur Rahman Milton, Rashedul Islam, and several other party and student leaders.
