Sylhet records highest rainfall amid forecast of more rain
Bangladesh Meteorological Department (BMD) today forecast rain in different parts of the country during the next 24 hours commencing from 9 am.
"Light to moderate rain/thunder showers accompanied by temporary gusty wind are likely to occur at many places over Rangpur, Rajshahi, Mymensingh and Sylhet divisions and at a few places over Dhaka, Khulna, Barishal and Chattogram divisions," said a Met Office bulletin issued this morning.
The bulletin also said moderately heavy to heavy rainfall may occur at places across the country.
Day and night temperatures may rise slightly over the country.
The highest temperature recorded on Tuesday was 35.5 degrees Celsius in Rangamati, while today's minimum temperature was 24.2 degrees Celsius in Patuakhali.
In the past 24 hours till 6 am today, the highest rainfall of 36 millimetres was recorded in Sylhet.
The sun will set at 6:49 pm today and rise at 5:20 am tomorrow in Dhaka.
