Two Rangpur businesses fined Tk 75,000

The Directorate of National Consumer Rights Protection (DNCRP) in a market surveillance campaign fined two business establishments Taka 75,000 in Rangpur city this afternoon. The DNCRP Divisional and District Offices conducted the campaign and inspected various chilling centers, animal feed shops, and meat shops in the Mandira Madhyapara area of Mahiganj and the Babupara area of Tajhat in the city.

During the campaign, Sagar, a milk vendor from Mandira Madhyapara area of Mahiganj, was fined Taka 50,000 for producing adulterated milk by mixing chemicals into it. Additionally, "New Swad Bakery" in the Babupara area of Tajhat was fined Taka 25,000 for mixing banned substances into food products and engaging in illegal production processes.

The total fine of Taka 75,000 imposed at that time was collected immediately on the spot. Deputy Director of the DNCRP Rangpur Divisional Office Md Jahangir Alam, Assistant Director of the DNCRP Rangpur District Office Md Mostafizur Rahman, representatives from the Bangladesh Food Safety Authority and Ansar-VDP members were present. DNCRP Deputy Director Md Jahangir Alam told local reporters that such market monitoring and enforcement operations would continue in the public interest.
