World Investor Week 2026 begins October 4

Bangladesh Securities and Exchange Commission (BSEC) will inaugurate the 'World Investor Week 2026' on October 4 with a view to raising public awareness about investor education, awareness and protection.

The inaugural programme will be held at the Convention Auditorium (Level-1) of the Krishibid Institution Bangladesh in Khamarbari, with Finance and Planning Minister Amir Khosru Mahmud Chowdhury scheduled to attend as the chief guest.

Special Assistant to the Prime Minister (status of State Minister) on Investment and Capital Market Affairs Tanvir Shahriar Ghani will attend the programme as the guest of honour.

BSEC Chairman and commissioners, representatives of the Dhaka Stock Exchange and Chittagong Stock Exchange, and around 1,000 stakeholders are expected to attend the programme.

The theme of this year's World Investor Week, organised by the BSEC, is "Investor Resilience, Digital Deception and Scam Alert."

A panel discussion on the theme will be held at the inaugural programme, with experts and stakeholders taking part.

The discussion will focus on strengthening investor awareness and protection, as well as raising awareness about digital fraud, investment-related risks and ways to enhance investors' resilience against such risks.

The week-long programme is being organised as part of nationwide investor education and awareness initiatives aimed at promoting informed and responsible participation in the capital market.
