Youth found dead in Khulna hotel room

Police recovered the body of a young man from a hotel room in Khulna city early Monday and detained a woman, who claimed to be his wife, in connection with the incident. The deceased was identified as Sohel Rana alias Babu, son of Lokman Fakir of Harintana Auto Stand Road under Labonchora Police Station in the city, and the detained woman's name was Fatema. 

Police recovered the body from Room No. 10 on the second floor of Kopotakkho Residential Hotel on Khan Jahan Ali Road under Sadar Police Station around 4:30 am. According to police and hotel employees, Babu and Fatema had checked into the hotel around 7:00 pm on Saturday, introducing themselves as husband and wife. 

During preliminary questioning, Fatema allegedly told police that an argument broke out between them on Sunday night and she strangled Babu with a scarf, Officer-in-Charge (OC) of Sadar Police Station Lokman Hossain Ripon said Police took Fatema into custody and sent Babu's body to the Khulna Medical College Hospital morgue for autopsy. Legal proceedings are underway, and the body will be handed over to the family after completion of necessary procedures, the OC said.
