A young Bangladeshi laborer named Nazrul Islam, 30, died after falling from a building in Saudi Arabia. The deceased’s younger brother, lecturer Md Gias Uddin, confirmed the death at 2 pm on Wednesday.

Nazrul was a resident of Purbapara in Burichang Sadar Union of the upazila and son of Syed Ali. He died after falling from a multi-storey building in Dammam, Saudi Arabia, early Wednesday (Bangladesh time).

Nazrul Islam migrated to Saudi Arabia on a worker visa five years ago after passing his HSC from Ershad Degree College. While abroad, he returned to the country once, got married and later moved to Saudi Arabia again. A daughter was born to them. Nazrul was the youngest of three brothers and two sisters. His untimely death has cast a shadow of grief over the family.

Burichang Press Club President Kazi Khorshed Alam said, “Nazrul was my former student. When I was teaching at Burichang Ideal School, he was a humble, polite and talented student.”

Burichang Bazar businessman Saiful Islam and employee Rabiul Islam said, “Nazrul used to treat everyone well while he was in the country and was very polite.”

The grieving family of Nazrul has sought the cooperation of the concerned authorities and the government to bring his body back to the country as soon as possible.
