The police arrested two drug dealers along with 9 kg of hemp wrapped in polythene from a private car on the west side of Mathabhanga Bhairab High School in Mathabhanga Union of Homna Upazila of the district on Sunday noon.

The arrested are Md Golam Sarwar Siam, 26, son of Golam Rabbani of Kapasiapara area in ​​Godagari Upazila of Rajshahi District, and Md Rumel Islam, 23, son of Abu Taher of Basabo area in ​​capital Dhaka. Both currently live in the TSO area of Goran in Dhaka.

According to police sources, the police set up a check post on the road from Chhiniya to Meghna on the west side of Mathabhanga Bhairab High School and searched various vehicles. At that time, a private car tried to escape at high speed. Later, when the police stopped and searched the car, they recovered 9 kg of hemp and arrested the two drug dealers.

They were transporting the hemp from Kasba Upazila of Brahmanbaria District to Dhaka. In addition, a white private car used for drug trafficking was seized and a case under the Narcotics Control Act is being filed against the arrested.
