267 more dengue patients admitted to hospitals in Khulna division

A total of 267 new dengue patients were admitted to hospitals across Khulna division in the last 24 hours, from 8am Friday to 8am Saturday, raising the total number of dengue cases in the division to 10,386 this year.

According to the latest report of the health department, 240 of the newly admitted patients were admitted to government hospitals and 27 to private hospitals.

One more dengue-related death was reported in the division during the period, raising the death toll from the mosquito-borne disease in the division to 36 this year.

Since January 1, a total of 10,386 dengue patients have been reported in the division. Of them, 9,003 have recovered and been discharged from hospitals, while 1,100 patients are currently undergoing treatment at different hospitals.

Besides, 247 patients have been referred to other healthcare facilities for better treatment.

District-wise data showed that Khulna district has recorded the highest number of dengue cases, with 3,924 patients reported so far. Of them, 2,231 dengue patients have been identified at Khulna Medical College Hospital.

The health authorities are continuing dengue prevention and control activities across the division as the infection persists.
