27 nabbed in Noakhali Narcotics recovered
27 people have been arrested in a special anti-drug drive by the Noakhali District Police. During this, 85 pieces of Yaba tablets and 130 grams of marijuana were recovered.
Noakhali Police Superintendent N M Nasiruddin confirmed the matter on Wednesday (August 19) morning. Earlier, they were arrested in a special anti-drug drive conducted in different upazilas of the district on Tuesday.
Police said that as part of the drive, a total of 26 drives were conducted in different police stations of the district. In this, four accused were arrested in regular cases and 85 pieces of Yaba and 130 grams of marijuana were recovered from them. Three regular cases have been filed in this incident. In addition, 23 more people have been sentenced and fined through mobile courts. In total, legal action has been taken against 27 people in the drive.
Superintendent of Police NM Nasiruddin further said that their zero tolerance policy against drugs will continue. In addition to regular operations and legal action against those involved in drug trade, supply, transportation and consumption, activities will continue to build a drug-free society.
