6th Meeting of Dhaka South City Corporation’s Management Committee Held

The 6th meeting of the Management Committee of Dhaka South City Corporation (DSCC) was held today (Monday) at Buriganga Hall, located in Nagar Bhaban. The meeting was chaired by DSCC Administrator Mr. Md. Shahjahan Mia and attended by 25 committee members, including representatives from various government departments and agencies.
At the beginning of the session, the minutes of the 5th Corporation Meeting held on March 20, 2025, were formally ratified. A progress report on the implementation of previous decisions was also reviewed. Following that, discussions were held, and resolutions were made in accordance with the meeting agenda.
Due to the lack of satisfactory bids for the lease of (a) Fulbaria Stopover Bus Terminal and (b) Dholai Khal Truck Terminal—both under DSCC’s jurisdiction—the committee approved a proposal to send a report to the Local Government Division. This report recommends a reassessment of the lease rates under the provisions of the “Policy on the Management, Leasing Method, and Revenue Distribution of Government Markets – 2011.”
The committee also approved a one-time financial grant from the discretionary fund of the DSCC Administrator, in response to a submitted application.
In addition, a decision was taken to sign a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Bangladesh Investment Development Authority (BIDA). The objective is to enable entrepreneurs to access five essential business-startup services through a single, unified application process.
In his closing remarks, DSCC Administrator and meeting chair Mr. Md. Shahjahan Mia emphasized the corporation's continued commitment to prioritizing citizen welfare. He called on residents to assist in efforts to combat Aedes mosquitoes ahead of the upcoming dengue season. Specifically, he advised households to close doors and windows half an hour before and after the Maghrib prayer and to ensure no stagnant water remains inside homes.
The meeting was attended by DSCC Chief Executive Officer Dr. Zillur Rahman, Secretary Mohammad Bashirul Haque Bhuiyan, as well as all department heads and regional executive officers.
