Alfadanga Bazar Merchants’ Assoc polls: Candidates get symbols

The symbols have been allocated among 11 candidates ahead of the upcoming election of Alfadanga Bazar Merchants’ Association in the district on July 19.

On Sunday at 11 am, Chief Election Commissioner Md Khoshbur Rahman Khokon distributed the symbols among the candidates at the temporary office of the association. During the allocation of symbols, great enthusiasm was seen among the candidates and their supporters.

Among the candidates, Abul Bashar Sheikh (chair), Abdus Salam Sheikh (cow cart), Syed Mizanur Rahman (umbrella) and Md Sirajul Haque Soja (glasses) have been allocated symbols for the post of president. Md Israfil Molla (pineapple), Mostafizur Rahman Russell (rose flower) and Syed Arifuzzaman Lipu (mango) have been allocated symbols for the post of general secretary. In addition, Md Yar Ali (motorcycle) and Monirul Islam (rickshaw) and Kamrul Islam Daud (football) and Bayezid Molla (tube well) have been allotted symbols for the post of treasurer.

During the allocation of symbols, members of the election management committee of Alfadanga Bazar Merchants’ Association, Harunar Rashid, Nitya Gopal Mandal, Prakash Kumar Kundu and Md Shahid Biswas were present.
