Bagerhat BNP announces 5-day programme marking Shaheed Zia's martyrdom anniversary

Bagerhat district BNP has announced a five-day programme marking the 45th martyrdom anniversary of Shaheed President Ziaur Rahman. A preparatory meeting was held at the district BNP office this noon with District BNP convener Engineer ATM Akram Hossain Talim in the chair. The meeting instructed all upazilas and associated organisations in the district to observe the programme properly in line with the central announcement. It was informed that the programme will begin on May 30 at 6 am with the hoisting of the national and party flags at the district office. Black flags will also be hoisted, and party leaders and activists will wear black badges on the occasion.

Later, a doa mahfil, discussion meeting and distribution of food among orphans and the needy will be held at the Zilla Parishad auditorium at 10 am. On May 31, a silent rally, doa mahfil, discussion meeting and food distribution programme for orphans and the underprivileged will be held, chaired by Kachua Upazila BNP President Sardar Zahid. Similar programmes will also be held in the remaining upazilas of the district over the five-day period as part of the central announcement.

BNP Central Committee Member Wahiduzzaman Dipu, District BNP Member Secretary Mozaffar Rahman Alam, Joint General Secretary Khadem Neyamul Nasir Alap, Shamsher Ali Mohan, Kamrul Islam Gora, Municipality BNP President Sheikh Shahed Ali Robi, General Secretary Syed Obaidul Islam Jewel and Kachua Upazila BNP President Sardar Zahid spoke at the preparatory meeting. Leaders and activists from different upazilas and allied organisations were also present.
