Blacksmiths busy ahead of Eid-ul-Azha in Rajapur

The blacksmiths of Rajapur Upazila of the district are busy preparing the tools for slaughtering sacrificial animals ahead of Eid-ul-Azha.
The craftsmen in the blacksmiths’ village are working day and night. Although there is not much work throughout the year, their busyness increases several times ahead of Eid-ul-Azha. However, the sales of blacksmiths this year are much less than last year.
The blacksmiths are busy making knives, das and chapatis, and sharpening old tools. Besides, many people are flocking to the blacksmiths to sharpen their old tools. The busyness of the blacksmiths can be seen when anybody goes to the southern end of the Bagri Haat and Bazar in the upazila. These blacksmith shops are filled with the sound of hot iron being pounded in the coal stove.
Some blacksmiths in Bagri Haat say that sales are much lower this year than last year. Due to the rain, there are not many buyers. Even then, their busyness increases at this time of the year. However, buyers may gradually increase.
