Dimla Land Office Employee Sleeping in Office Video goes viral: show cause notice issued

A video of Shamsun Nahar, an employee of the Gayabari Union Land Office in Dimla Upazila of Nilphamari, sleeping during office hours has gone viral on social media.

Upazila Assistant Land Officer Rawshan Kabir has issued a show cause notice (show cause) to the employee in this incident.

The incident took place at the Gayabari Union Land Office on Monday around 3:30 pm. At that time, some people present in the office saw the concerned employee sleeping during office hours. Later, the video of the incident was recorded and published on social media, and the matter spread quickly.

In this regard, Gayabari Union Land Officer Abu Rayyan said, I left the office at 3:30 pm as there was a meeting at the Upazila office at 4 pm. After that, Shamsun Nahar was in the office.

He has been suffering from illness for a few days. However, after learning about the incident, a show cause notice (show cause) has already been issued to him.

Dimla Upazila Assistant Commissioner (Land) Rawshan Kabir said, there is no room for negligence in performing duties during office hours. The matter is being viewed seriously. If the allegations are found to be true, necessary action will be taken against the accused as per government rules. Dimla Upazila Nirbahi Officer (UNO) Imranuzzaman said, a show cause notice has already been issued to the concerned employee after the incident. After receiving his written reply, further necessary action will be taken as per the rules. Meanwhile, attempts were made to contact the accused employee, but he could not be reached.
