Distribution of sports equipment including 60 bicycles & 17 wheelchairs in Gangachara

60 bicycles have been distributed among meritorious students, 17 wheelchairs among people with special needs, and a total of 356 sports equipment including football and volleyball have been distributed to educational institutions and various clubs in Gangachara under the district of Rangpur.

On Tuesday afternoon, the upazila administration organized a meeting on quality improvement of education with the head teachers of secondary and primary education institutions at the multipurpose hall and distributed these equipment with the funding of the ADP for the fiscal year 2025-26. The chief guest of the event was Rangpur-1 constituency MP Raihan Siraji. Upazila Executive Officer Jasmine Akhter presided over the event.

Presented by Assistant Engineer Janjabil Binte Ahmed of the Public Health Engineering Department, the program was addressed by Gangachara Model Government High School Headmaster Abdul Akher Miah, Saudpara Islamic Alim Madrasa Principal Maulana Rokon Uzzaman, Upazila Jamaat Ameer Maulana Nayebuzzaman, Upazila Secondary Education Officer Abu Sayeed Md. Arif Mahfuz and Upazila Primary Education Officer Shayla Sayeed Promov.

At the exchange of views, MP Raihan Siraji suggested regular parent-teacher meetings, home visits and informing parents about absent students through phone or letter to improve the quality of education. At the same time, he urged students to be aware of the ill effects of drugs, child marriage and gambling.
