The interim government’s advisory council decided on a 10-day holiday for Eid-ul-Azha during a meeting held on Tuesday (May 6) at the Secretariat.

A senior advisor present at the meeting confirmed the decision to the media, adding that all government offices will remain open on Saturday, May 17, and Saturday, May 24—both usually weekly holidays.

Earlier, Chief Advisor's Press Secretary Shafiqul Alam announced the holiday decision on his verified Facebook page.

Earlier this year, the government declared a nine-day holiday for Eid-ul-Fitr from March 28 to April 5. Initially, five days were officially declared as holidays for Eid, with an additional day granted through an executive order. That break also followed a national holiday on March 26 for Independence Day, with offices briefly reopening on March 27.
