Elderly man arrested with Marijuana plant in Tongibari

Police have arrested an elderly man named Jamal Bepari (68) with a 7.5-foot marijuana plant in Tongibari, Munshiganj.

 A regular case under the Narcotics Control Act was filed against him on Tuesday and sent to court. According to police sources, the Tongibari police arrested him on Monday night from Bhadrapara village in Arial Union of the upazila. He is the son of the deceased Robi Bepari of that village. At that time, 1 planted marijuana plant was recovered. The height of the plant is estimated to be 7 feet 6 inches. The caretaker of the plant, Md. Jamal Bepari, was arrested and brought to the police station.

Tongibari Police Station Officer-in-Charge, Md. Shamim, said that a regular case has been filed under the Narcotics Control Act in this regard. The accused has been sent to court.
