Ending long-standing public suffering in Sarishabari: Road renovation with own funds

The important road from Boyra Bridge in Pogaldigha Union of Sarishabari, Jamalpur to Mimco Jute Mill and Model School had been impassable for a long time. Local students, patients and the general public had to suffer greatly while traveling on this road filled with large holes and potholes. Eminent social worker and politician Liton Talukder finally came forward to alleviate this long-standing public suffering.

On the spot, it was seen that the road from Boyra Bridge to Mimco Jute Mill, Pogaldigha Model High School, Govindapatal Government Primary School and Jamuna City Park had not been renovated for a long time. Multiple small and large holes had formed at different places, almost stopping the movement of people and vehicles. After learning about the matter, Pogaldigha Union Parishad Chairman candidate and Union Volunteer Party President Liton Talukder took the initiative to repair this dilapidated road with his own funds. The road repair work started with his personal funds, which has brought relief to the locals.

Pogaldigha Union BNP General Secretary Rashedul Islam Ranju, Vice President Mujibur Rahman Liton, Union Volunteer Party General Secretary Zahidul Islam Sohag, Union Jubo Dal Joint General Secretary Sujol Mahmud, Sramik Dal Youth Affairs Secretary Hasan Talukder and local dignitaries were present at the inauguration of the road repair work. Local common people appreciated this initiative and expressed gratitude to Liton Talukder.

In this regard, Liton Talukder said, "Seeing the suffering of the people, I have taken the initiative to renovate the road with my own funds. This has been a long-standing demand of the people of my area. I believe that beyond political responsibility, we have a responsibility to society. From that point on, I have made this small effort."
