Faridpur's Iqamat-ud-Din Kamil Madrasa ordered to Return Tk 1.44 crore to 19 teachers and employees

The Directorate of Madrasa Education has found evidence of widespread financial irregularities in the Iqamat-ud-Din Model Kamil Madrasa (listed up to the Alim level) under Bhanga Upazila of Faridpur district. The index of 19 teachers and employees of the Fazil and Kamil levels of the madrasa outside the pattern has been deducted for illegally withdrawing more than Tk 1.44 crore from the government treasury. At the same time, strict orders have been issued to return the entire amount withdrawn to the government treasury within the next one month.

This notice was issued on August 3, 2026, in a separate memorandum signed by Assistant Director (Finance) Mohammad Shukur Alam Majumdar from the Finance Branch of the Directorate of Madrasa Education.

As stated in the instructions, this step has been taken in view of the decision of the MPO Review Committee under the Technical and Madrasa Education Department on 16/06/2026.

The notice states that the accused 19 teachers and employees have withdrawn a total of 1,44,00,048/- (One crore forty-four lakh forty-eight) taka in excess.

They have been asked to deposit this amount in the government treasury through treasury challan within the stipulated 01 (one) month and submit the original or certified copy of the challan to the department. If the money is not returned within this period, it has been warned that necessary legal action will be taken against the accused, including filing a case as per the provisions of the PDR Act.

Fakrul Islam (Lecturer, English) - 18,01,102 taka. Md. Rashedul Islam (Lecturer, Arabic) - 10,60,302 taka.

Md. Al Amin (Lecturer, Arabic) - 7,51,242 taka. Md. Sarwar Hossain (Lecturer, Librarian) - 7,51,242 taka. Md. Azizul Haque (Lecturer, Fakih) - 6,43,370 taka.

Zahid Hossain (Lecturer, Fakih) - 6,43,370 taka. Md. Mohibur Rahman (Lecturer) - 6,43,370 taka. Md. Nurunnabi (Assistant Maulvi) - 6,27,702 taka. Kazi Al Masud (Office Assistant Computer Operator) - 4,81,983 taka. Mohiuddin (Assistant Librarian) - 4,77,315 taka. Md. Masum Billah (4th Class Employee) - 4,34,175 taka. Hamib Gazi (4th Class Employee) - 4,34,175 taka. Nasrin (Junior Teacher) - 3,64,453 taka.

Md. Nazmul Islam (Cleaner) - 3,49,407 taka. Md. Rezaul Mia (Lab Assistant, Physics) - 3,35,991 taka. Sammi Akhter (Lab Assistant, Biology) - 3,35,991 taka. Md. Saiful Islam (4th Class Employee) - 3,28,215 taka.

A copy of the order to embezzle this huge amount of money and return it has been sent to all concerned departments including the Ministry of Education, the Deputy Commissioner and the Upazila Secondary Education Officer.
