Five people were killed and two others injured in a head-on collision between a passenger bus and a three-wheeler (locally known as Mahindra) on the Dhaka-Barishal highway in Bhanga upazila of Faridpur on Wednesday morning. The accident occurred around 7:30 am near the Bablatala bus stand in Chumurdi Union of the upazila. The identities of the deceased could not be confirmed immediately. According to police and local sources, a Dhaka-bound bus of Mizan Paribahan and a three-wheeler heading towards Tekerhat collided head-on, killing four passengers of the three-wheeler on the spot. Three others sustained critical injuries, and one of them died on the way to the hospital. Confirming the incident to Jago News, Officer-in-Charge (OC) of Bhanga Highway Police Station Md Rakibuzzaman said, “Police were dispatched to the scene upon receiving the news. The collision occurred between a passenger bus and a three-wheeler. However, the bus fled the scene. Further details will be shared later.”
