Green Force Bangladesh holds Tree plantation program

A tree plantation program was held in Dumuria Upazila of Khulna on Monday by Green Force Bangladesh.

With the aim of protecting the balance of the environment, combating the adverse effects of climate change and building a green Bangladesh, this tree plantation program was held at Rangpur College and Rangpur Kalitala Secondary School in Dumuria Upazila under the initiative of Green Force Bangladesh, a non-political, social and voluntary organization.

Organized as part of the organization's ongoing tree plantation program, saplings of various species of fruit, forest and medicinal trees were planted in this program. At the same time, awareness campaigns were conducted among the local residents about environmental conservation, the importance of tree plantation and the care of planted trees.

Sujat Kabir, Khulna District President of Green Force Bangladesh, was present as the chief guest in the program. Divisional General Secretary Engineer Wahid Murad, District General Secretary Md. Nur Alam Shanto. Samaresh Mandal, current chairman of Rangpur Union No. 12 and principal of Rangpur College, acting headmaster Bijan Kumar Mandal, Dr. Sandipak Mallick, district vice-president Bimal Mallick, organizing secretary Mustasin Akunchi, spokesperson Taslim Uddin Mohan and many others.

In addition, leaders of various levels of the organization, volunteers and local dignitaries participated in the program.

The speakers said that Green Force Bangladesh, a non-political, social and voluntary organization registered by the Bangladesh government, has been conducting environmental conservation, tree plantation, humanitarian aid, disaster relief distribution, blood donation programs and various social development activities for a long time. In addition, the organization is continuously working to raise awareness in different regions of the country, increase social involvement and awaken moral values, giving special importance to anti-corruption public awareness activities.

At this time, the speakers also said that Bangladesh is facing the risk of various natural disasters due to the impact of climate change. There is no alternative to massive tree plantation to protect the environment, control air pollution and build a livable country for future generations. A tree not only provides oxygen, it plays an important role in preserving biodiversity, controlling temperature and maintaining natural balance.

Khulna District President Sujat Kabir said, “To build a green Bangladesh, every citizen must plant at least one tree and take responsibility for its care. In addition to protecting the environment, Green Force Bangladesh is also working to build a corruption-free, conscious and humane society. Such public welfare activities will be carried out on a wider scale in the future.”

Khulna Divisional General Secretary Engineer Wahid Murad said, “The young society must be involved in both environmental protection and creating social awareness against corruption. It is possible to build a green, well-governed and prosperous Bangladesh through joint efforts.”

At the end of the program, the organization expressed its commitment to continue conducting tree plantation and public awareness activities in various areas of the country, including Khulna, in the future.
