Harassment declines, public Confidence grows
Rajshahi District Commissioner Kazi Shahidul Islam has taken an exceptional initiative to bring government services to people’s doorsteps and reduce the hardships faced by ordinary citizens. Under his sincere and people-oriented leadership, regular public hearings are being held, enabling citizens to access government services without unnecessary harassment.
The public hearings are becoming increasingly popular as people can directly present their problems to the District Commissioner and, in many cases, receive immediate solutions. By ensuring public services through transparency and accountability, he has emerged as a trusted figure among the residents of the district. A public hearing was held at the District Commissioner’s office on Wednesday presided over by Rajshahi District Commissioner Kazi Shahidul Islam.
At the hearing, he said, “Ensuring services for ordinary people is our primary objective. When a person comes to the administration with a problem, it is our moral responsibility to listen attentively and take initiatives to resolve the matter as quickly as possible in accordance with the rules.”He further said that the public hearings provide people with an opportunity to directly voice their concerns. The district administration is sincerely working to reduce public suffering and ensure government services through transparency and accountability.
The people who attended the hearing highly praised the District Commissioner’s humanitarian initiative. Those seeking assistance said that matters which previously remained unresolved despite visits to various offices are now being addressed more quickly because they can raise their concerns directly with the District Commissioner.One beneficiary said, “Because of this initiative by the District Commissioner, we ordinary people feel more confident. We no longer have to depend on middlemen or face harassment''.
Those attending the public hearing expressed hope that the District Commissioner’s people-friendly initiative would continue in the future, further reducing harassment and difficulties in accessing government services.Rajshahi District Relief and Rehabilitation Officer Abdul Hai, along with other relevant officials of the district administration, was also present at the public hearing.
