Human chain of govt officials & employees in Dakope To protest the attack on food control officer

A human chain program has been organized by the officials and employees of the upazila in Dakope, Khulna, to protest the terrorist attack on Upazila Food Control Officer Anind Kumar Das.

The human chain program held at the Upazila Parishad premises at 12:30 pm on Tuesday, led by Upazila Executive Officer (UNO) Borhan Uddin Mithu, demanded exemplary punishment for all the criminals involved in the attack on government official Anind Kumar Das.

At the same time, they demanded that the security of all officials be ensured. Upazila Project Implementation Officer Shahidullah, Upazila Senior Fisheries Officer Abubakkar Siddique, Upazila Election Officer Rabiul Islam, Upazila Youth Development Officer Rezaul Karim, Upazila ICT Officer Sameer Biswas, Upazila Food Department Officer-in-Charge Swapan Kumar Roy, and UP member Mostafizur Rahman Mostaq were present in the human chain.

It is worth mentioning that on August 9, around 7:30 pm, a group of terrorists tried to kidnap him in front of Akbar Store in Farajipara, Khulna city. 

At one stage of the struggle, the terrorists failed to kidnap him and stabbed him with a sharp weapon, causing him to bleed and escape. After the incident, the injured officer was first admitted to Khulna City Medical and later to Khulna Medical College Hospital.

It is learnt that the injured officer has filed a case against unknown accused at Sonadanga Police Station in Khulna. The injured officer is also on duty as an additional food control officer in Batiaghata Upazila in addition to Dakop.
