On occasion of July Uprising Day in Cox's Bazar:Khatme Quran, Doa Mahfil held

On the occasion of July Uprising Day 2026, a Khatme Quran, discussion meeting and Doa Mahfil were held at the Cox's Bazar Press Club in memory of martyrs.

On the 5th day (August 4) of the week-long program, a Khatme Quran and Doa Mahfil was organized in the afternoon by the Cox's Bazar Press Club and the Journalists Union of Cox's Bazar.

Then, the chief guest at the discussion meeting was District Council Administrator ATM Nurul Bashar Chowdhury.

He said that the mafia political party Awami League had held Bangladesh hostage for a long time. There was no security for people's lives and property. Because of them, the entire country was in existential crisis. Bangladesh was liberated in exchange for the spontaneous blood of the student masses in the mass uprising of 24.

He also said that in the past, journalists' pens were closed. Due to state obstacles, accurate news was not published. The Awami League became fascist because of journalists. Free journalism has been established in the country after the mass uprising.

ATM Nurul Bashar Chowdhury called for presenting the emotions, feelings and reality of the people of the society to the nation.

He said that Bangladesh would not have been freed from foreign domination and slavery if the students and the public had not given blood. Under the leadership of Prime Minister Tarique Rahman, Bangladesh is moving forward to new horizons.

At the beginning of the discussion meeting chaired by Cox's Bazar Press Club President Mahbubur Rahman, Cox's Bazar Press Club General Secretary Momtaz Uddin Bahari, convener of the 7-day program marking the July Mass Uprising Day, delivered a welcome speech.

Professor Akhtarul Alam, convener of the District NCP, and SM Aminul Haque Chowdhury, founding member of the Cox's Bazar Press Club, spoke as special guests at the event.

And member secretary of the 7-day program on the occasion of July Uprising Day, Hasanur Rashid, President of the Cox's Bazar Union of Journalists Nurul Islam Helali, Special Correspondent of the Daily Inquilab Shamsul Haque Sharek, Press Club member Advocate Muhammad Abu Siddique Osmani, Sports Editor of the Press Club MR Mahbub, News Editor of CBN and Press Club member Imam Khair, and Joint General Secretary of the Cox's Bazar Union of Journalists Syed Alam spoke at the program moderated by Hasanur Rashid, Member of the Press Club Humayun Sikder recited the Quran at the beginning of the discussion meeting.

Among the July 24 fighters, Shahidul Wahed Shahed, Muhammad Khalid Bin Sayeed, Sahab Uddin, Abdul Momen Khan, Aryan Khan Farabi, Fahmida Hasan Heba spoke.

At the end of the discussion meeting, the guests presented prizes to the winning students of the July Memorial Graffiti Drawing and Poetry Recitation Competition. It is worth noting that the Cox's Bazar Press Club and Journalists Union have undertaken a 7-day program to mark the July Mass Uprising Day. Each day's program has already been successfully completed.
