Police have arrested 2 drug dealers in Gopalganj with 64,123 packets of Yaba, 455,000 taka in cash for drug sales and a luxury car. The district detective police arrested them at the LGED intersection in the district town at around 4 am on Wednesday.

Superintendent of Police Md. Habibullah gave this information at a press conference at the Superintendent of Police's office on Wednesday afternoon.

At the press conference, he said that a temporary check post was set up at the LGED intersection in the district town in the early hours of the morning based on secret information that a large amount of drugs would be smuggled. At that time, a white microbus was searched and after arresting Gopalganj district's top drug dealer Ujjal Molla and his associate Wasim Molla, their bodies were searched and five thousand pieces of Yaba were recovered.

Then, another large amount of Yaba was recovered from a luggage in their car. The market value of which is about 2 crore taka. A luxury car used for drug transportation was seized. The police superintendent also said that they have been using the car for drug smuggling by changing the number plates of the car at different times for a long time. During initial interrogation, they said that they brought all these drugs to Gopalganj from Cox's Bazar in a private car.
