RAJUK Eviction Drive in Gulshan: Illegal Establishments and Restaurants Sealed
The Capital Development Authority (RAJUK) has carried out a mobile court operation in the Gulshan area to remove unauthorised commercial activities in residential buildings and to demolish illegal structures. On Sunday, the drive was conducted in Zone–4/2 under the supervision of Executive Magistrate Liton Sarkar, where non-residential use was halted in four buildings. Officials from the Gulshan Society were also present during the operation.
During the drive, the ‘Youth Club’ in Gulshan Tajuddin Park was sealed for conducting commercial activities in violation of approved conditions. In addition, an undertaking was taken on stamped paper instructing the removal of illegally constructed structures within three days from the basement of the Gulshan Pink City Shopping Mall.
The power connection of an under-construction restaurant on Road 98 in Gulshan was disconnected and the meter was handed over to DESCO. Another restaurant operating dangerously with eight gas cylinders inside a residential building on Road 97 was shut down and the cylinders were removed. An illegal restaurant named ‘Green and Papers’ on the same road was also sealed.
Meanwhile, two illegal shops constructed by occupying the road in the Badda Rehabilitation Area were demolished. RAJUK provided this information.
