Rapist sentenced to death in Narail
Rabiul (30), son of Atiar Rahman of the same village, raped Jannati (5), daughter of Mofizur Rahman of Ramchandrapur village of Narail Sadar upazila, and fled.
The incident took place on Monday, July 20 at 6:30 pm. Immediately after this incident, several teams of the district police under the overall supervision of DIG Khulna Range Md. Mostafizur Rahman and led by Police Superintendent Narail, arrested the accused Rabiul at 9:15 am on July 21 and handed him over to the police.
On the orders of the DIG, the charge sheet in this case was filed in a very short time. On Tuesday at 12:30 pm, Sheikh Samidul Islam, Judge of the Women and Child Violence Prevention Tribunal, Narail, sentenced the rapist and murderer Rabiul to death and fined him three lakh taka.
Jannati's father Mofizur, who was present in the court, said that the verdict was good, but he demanded that it be implemented quickly. At that moment, Jannati's mother burst into tears. The local residents present were happy with the verdict.
