Security guard arrested for stealing Tk 17 lakh from bank booth in Sitakunda

Police arrested a security guard from Rangpur in connection with robbing Taka 17 lakh from a ATM booth of Islami Bank Bangladesh PLC. Police said security guard Ayub Ali, 56, was arrested from Kamarpara bus stand area of Rangpur on Saturday afternoon.

He allegedly robbed the amount from bank’s ATM booth at International Islamic University Chittagong (IIUC) campus at Sitakunda using a counterfeit key, police said. Police also said a total of Taka 14 lakh 84 thousand 828 was recovered from him. Court sent him to jail as Sitakunda Model thana produced him before the court.
