Seminar titled ‘From Shaheed Zia to Tarique Zia’ held
A day-long seminar titled ‘From Shaheed Zia to Tarique Zia’ was held at the Zila Parishad hall of the district on Saturday.
Chaired by District BNP Joint General Secretary Advocate Kazi Akhtaruzzaman Jewel, District BNP Vice-President Md Mostafa Haque Pradhan Bachchu delivered a speech as the chief guest. District BNP Vice-Presidents Md Mozammel Haque and Mir Selim Faruk, and Organizing Secretary Anisur Rahman Koko delivered speeches as the special guests. It was moderated by Sadar Upazila BNP Organizing Secretary Advocate Md Azim Hossain.
The speakers at the seminar said, “Shaheed President Ziaur Rahman was the promoter of multi-party democracy in Bangladesh. Under his leadership, the country turned around from a war-torn state. Inspired by the policies of Shaheed Zia and Begum Khaleda Zia, Tarique Rahman is working to protect democracy and the interests of the country today.”
In the seminar, the speakers also shed light on various issues including the 31-point state structure repair, the 19-point of BNP, and the goals and objectives of BNP.
In his closing speech, District BNP Joint General Secretary Advocate Kazi Akhtaruzzaman Jewel said, “Tarique Rahman is the future leadership of the nationalist force. He is working for the interests of the country from abroad by embracing the ideals of Shaheed Zia and the thoughts of Begum Khaleda Zia. Under his able leadership, Bangladesh will be re-established.”
Leaders and activists of various organs and affiliated organizations of BNP were present at the seminar.
