South Korea Sees Record Birth Rate Increase from January to May
South Korea registered record birth rate growth for the first five months of the year, officials told AFP on Wednesday. "The number of newborns for the Jan-May period came at 106,048 over the period, a 6.9 percent growth, which is the highest growth rate since such data collection began in 1981," said a Statistics Korea official.
