Tangail Sadar constituency MP and State Minister for Fisheries and Livestock Sultan Salahuddin Tuku inaugurated the swamp and garbage removal program to make DC Lake, one of the entertainment centers and a symbol of beauty in Tangail city, clean and attractive. After the inauguration, he personally participated in removing the swamp from the lake and joined the cleanliness drive with leaders, activists, volunteers and locals.

After visiting DC Lake on Friday morning, the State Minister inspected the overall environment, water condition and cleanliness of the lake. He started the cleaning drive by removing the swamp and various types of garbage that had accumulated for a long time. At the same time, he instructed the concerned officials to continue the regular cleaning activities.

Speaking to reporters, State Minister Tuku said that in addition to government initiatives, the active participation of the general public is needed to build a clean and environmentally friendly city. He said that DC Lake is not just an entertainment center, it is an important part of the beauty and environment of Tangail city. Therefore, everyone must play a responsible role in protecting its cleanliness and beauty.

He also said that as long as necessary, the entire lake will be cleaned in phases. We have a clear plan around DC Lake. We are working with the aim of transforming it into a modern mini tourism center. Recently, I visited the area with the chairman of Bangladesh Tourism Corporation. Along with DC Lake, there is a plan to develop the char area as a large tourism center.

The State Minister said that the commitment made before the election to build a modern tourism center in Tangail is being implemented. He expressed the hope that with everyone's cooperation, it will be possible to turn DC Lake into a modern and attractive entertainment center. In addition, fish farming initiatives will also be taken there, the benefits of which will be enjoyed by the people of Tangail.

He urged everyone to be aware of keeping the city clean and ordered to take effective measures to prevent the accumulation of sewage and garbage in the lake in the future.

Leaders and activists of various BNP organs and associate organizations, members of local voluntary organizations and the general public participated in the cleanliness drive.

With their combined efforts, the work of removing sewage and garbage from different parts of the lake began.

Present at the time were Deputy Commissioner Sharifa Haque, former member secretary of the district BNP Mahmudul Haque Sanu, convener of the district Jubo Dal Khandaker Rashedul Alam, former organizing secretary of the district BNP Shafiqur Rahman Khan Shafiq, central Jubo Dal member Abdullahil Kafi, and leaders and activists of various levels of BNP and its affiliates.
