Stuntman dies after falling ill on set of Shakib’s ‘Tandob’

A stuntman named Monir Hossain died after falling ill on the set of the film Tandob, starring popular actor Shakib Khan, currently being filmed in Rajshahi.

Director Raihan Rafi confirmed the incident, stating that Monir was declared dead by doctors at Rajshahi Medical College Hospital on Saturday afternoon (May 3).

“He performed a stunt scene around noon and seemed fine afterward. He was chatting with everyone. Suddenly, after one or two hours, he began feeling unwell. When he was taken to the hospital, doctors informed us that he had passed away,” Rafi said.

The shooting of Tandob is taking place at a set built in the Hi-Tech Park area of Rajshahi city. According to the film crew, Monir began feeling unwell on set.

Rafi added, “He likely suffered a stroke in the morning but didn’t tell anyone. He didn’t share any discomfort or symptoms with others.”

Monir, a resident of Narayanganj, had been working in the film industry as a stuntman for several years.

Tandob is scheduled for release during the upcoming Eid-ul-Azha. The film marks the silver screen debut of popular television actress Sabila Noor, who stars opposite Shakib Khan.
