Taskforce raids Sapahar zero point to ease traffic jam

Keeping in view the upcoming mango season and business in Sapahar Upazila of the district, various plans have been taken by holding meetings to resolve the traffic jam.

As part of this, a joint taskforce operation of the Upazila Administration, Police Administration and Army was conducted at 11:30 am and all types of business establishments occupying the sidewalks on both sides of the road were removed by showing red alerts. Later, a warning was given that legal action would be taken and fines would be imposed against those who disobey the order.

Sapahar Upazila Nirbahi Officer and Executive Magistrate Md Selim Reza, Upazila Assistant Commissioner (Land) Abida Sifat, Army Camp Commander Lt Riyad Hossain, Sapahar Police Station Officer-in-Charge Abdul Aziz, Upazila Health and Family Officer Dr Md Arifuzzaman and members of the police and army were present in the taskforce operation. The residents of Sapahar have welcomed the taskforce for conducting an advance operation to ease traffic congestion during the mango season.
