Three MRO Women Electrocuted After Transformer Blast in Bandarban

Three Mro women died of electrocution early Monday following a transformer explosion in Ranglai Headman Para of the 13-Mile area along the Bandarban-Chimbuk road in Bandarban district. The deceased were identified as Tumle (17), daughter of Rengthen Mro; Urkan (71), wife of the late Parao Mro; and Rowleng Mro (35), wife of the late Merao Mro. All were residents of Ranglai Headman Para.
According to police and local sources, an electrical transformer near the village exploded, and the women were electrocuted after coming into contact with live wires. Two of them died on the spot, while the third was rushed to Bandarban Sadar Hospital, where doctors pronounced her dead. Rangrao Mro, president of the 12-Mile market committee on the Bandarban-Chimbuk road, said he heard that the women were electrocuted by exposed wires following the transformer explosion. Confirming the incident, Additional Superintendent of Police Abdul Karim said a police team is en route to the location. “Further details will be known once we reach the scene,” he added.
