Tree Plantation, Fish Fry Release Programme Held at KMP Police Lines


As part of BNP Chairman Tarique Rahman's nationwide initiative to plant 25 crore trees over five years, a tree plantation and fish fry release program was held at the Police Lines in Boyra under the Khulna Metropolitan Police (KMP) on Wednesday, said a KMP press release. The program was conducted under the leadership of KMP police commissioner Mohammad Zahidul Hasan.

As part of the initiative, the Police Commissioner personally planted saplings of fruit-bearing trees and rare flowering plants within the Police Lines premises. He also released fish fry of various species into the Police Lines pond to support environmental conservation, enhance aquatic biodiversity, and maintain the natural ecological balance of the water body. A total of 326 saplings of different fruit and flowering tree species have so far been planted as part of efforts to transform the Police Lines into a greener and more environmentally friendly establishment.

The KMP press release said such public welfare and eco-friendly initiatives would continue in the future to ensure a healthy and pleasant working environment for police personnel. Among others, Additional Police Commissioner Mohammad Rashidul Islam Khan, Deputy Police Commissioner M. M. Shakiluzzaman, Deputy Police Commissioner Shafiqul Islam, Deputy Police Commissioner Md. Rezaur Rahman, and other officers and force members of various ranks were present at the event.
