11 illegal brick kilns demolished in Bagerhat
A mobile court demolished 11 illegal brick kilns in Bagerhat Sadar upazila on Thursday during a drive conducted by the Department of Environment (DoE). Officials said the kilns were operating without environmental clearance and using banned firewood as fuel.
The drive was led by Executive Magistrate Momtaz Begum from the Khulna Divisional Office of the DoE, with the initiative of Deputy Director Asadur Rahman of the department's Bagerhat District Office. Police and Fire Service personnel assisted the operation. Officials said similar drives will continue in the district as part of ongoing efforts to stop illegal brick kiln operations and protect the environment.
