2 illegal brick kilns fined Tk 5 lakh in Bhola

A mobile court on Monday shut down the operations of two illegally established brick kilns in Borhanuddin upazila of the district and fined those a total of Taka 5 lakh. The drive was carried out in Dalalpur village from 11:00 am to 6:00 pm under the supervision of executive magistrates Md. Joynal Abedin and Md. Nurul Alam.

According to the Department of Environment, the operation was conducted jointly by the district administration and the environment department as part of an ongoing crackdown on illegal brick kilns. During the drive, M/s SNS Bricks was fined Tk 1 lakh, while M/s Alam Bricks was fined Tk 4 lakh. Authorities also destroyed raw bricks at the sites and extinguished the kiln fires with water to halt operations completely. Assistant Director of the Bhola Environment Department Md. Tota Mia said members of the Navy, Coast Guard, Police, and Fire Service assisted in the drive.
