3800 farmers to receive jute cultivation incentives in Jamalpur
The Agriculture Department, under an agriculture rehabilitation program, is disbursing incentives on jute cultivation among small and marginal farmers in the district this Kharip season. Jamalpur Sadar Upazila Agriculture Officer Emdadul Haque says distribution of the incentives is in the final stage.
Department of Agriculture Extension (DAE) sources say 3800 farmers will receive jute seed and fertilizer under the program. Each farmer receives one kilogram of jute seed, five kilograms of DAP fertilizer, and five kilograms of MOP fertilizer free of cost to cultivate one Bigha of land. Under the program, 950 small and marginal farmers benefit in Islampur Upazila, 700 in Jamalpur Sadar Upazila, 400 in Bakshiganj, 300 in Melandah, 550 in Sarishabari, 550 in Dewanganj, and 350 in Madarganj Upazila.
