Army launches two-day specialist medical camp in Bandarban
A two-day special medical camp has begun at Rajar Math in the district town with an aim to provide healthcare services to underprivileged and distressed people in the hill district.
The programme, organised by the Bangladesh Army’s 69 Infantry Brigade and Bandarban Region, was inaugurated in the district town on Monday morning.
Specialist physicians from various departments, including medicine, ophthalmology, gynaecology, paediatrics, dermatology and ear, nose and throat (ENT), are providing treatment to patients.
Necessary medicines are also being distributed among the patients free of cost based on the doctors’ prescriptions.
Army officials said the Bangladesh Army has been working not only to ensure the security of different ethnic communities living in the hill district but also to improve their quality of life and protect their health.
They said such medical assistance programmes would help raise health awareness among marginalised communities and enable them to receive necessary treatment and medicines.
A large number of people from marginalised communities in Bandarban are receiving medical treatment and free medicines under the two-day specialist medical assistance programme.
