Azharul Islam commits to fulfil people's expectations sincerely
Newly elected Member of Parliament (MP) from Rangpur-2 (Badarganj-Taraganj) constituency ATM Azharul Islam has said that he is committed to fulfil the expectations of the people impartially with utmost sincerity and dedication. "I desire to work in coordination with the local administration for the overall development of Badarganj and Taraganj upazilas, infrastructure expansion, progress in the education and health sectors and improvement of the law and order situation," he said.
Azharul Islam, also a Nayeb-e-Ameer of Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami, said this in his speech as the chief guest at an introductory and views-exchange meeting organized by the Badarganj upazila administration at its auditorium on Saturday afternoon. Badarganj Upazila Nirbahi Officer Most Anjuman Sultana presided over the programme. Badarganj Upazila Assistant Commissioner (Land) Md Shahadat Ali and Badarganj Police Station Officer-in-Charge Hasan Zahid Sarkar also addressed the event.
ATM Azharul Islam said, "I have never shown favoritism in my life and there is no question of doing so in the future. Even though I was not elected, I had worked for the development of society in the two upazilas of the area in the past." "Insha'Allah, I will continue to work with the help of the government and private sector in the future for the development and welfare of the people of my constituency," he said. Azharul Islam also said that the people of all walks of life, regardless of party affiliation, religion and caste, have elected him with huge votes with sincere love in the election.
"I am grateful to all of them. I will do my utmost to protect that love. I will be by their side in happiness and sorrow in the future, Insha'Allah," the MP added. Jamaat-e-Islami Rangpur District Shura and Working Council member Shah Mohammad Abdul Hannan Khan, Badarganj Upazila Ameer Moulana Muhammad Kamruzzaman Kabir, Upazila Nayeb-e-Ameer Shah Muhammad Rustam, Upazila Jamaat Secretary Moulana Minhajul Islam and local leaders were present, among others.
