A citizen dialogue was held under the Coastal City Climate Resilient Project to facilitate the development of three key infrastructures in Bagerhat Municipality—the bus terminal, a new market, and a municipal park. The dialogue took place at 11:00 am today at the conference room of the Bagerhat Deputy Commissioner’s office. Deputy Commissioner of Bagerhat, Golam Md. Baten, presided over the programme, while Member of Parliament for Bagerhat Sadar-2, Sheikh Manjurul Haque Rahad, attended as the chief guest.

Among others, Bagerhat Municipal Administrator Dr Fakrul Alam, District BNP Convener Engineer ATM Akram Hossain Talim, Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami Ameer Maulana Rezaul Karim, and Additional Superintendent of Police Shamim Hasan were present as special guests. Citizens of Bagerhat Municipality, prominent businesspeople, municipal officials, local dignitaries, and journalists also attended the meeting.

The speakers discussed various aspects of developing the bus terminal, new market, and Municipal Park, offering timely and constructive suggestions. Emphasis was placed on ensuring modern facilities, reducing traffic congestion, building environmentally friendly infrastructure, and acquiring additional land where necessary. Participants observed that Bagerhat Municipality could be transformed into a modern, livable, and climate-resilient city through the implementation of well-planned development initiatives.
