‘Dragging artistes to court over trivial matters is shameful’: Nusraat Faria
Popular Bangladeshi actress Nusraat Faria has criticised what she described as the growing trend of dragging actors and actresses to court over minor issues.
Faria shared her thoughts on the matter in a Facebook post on Thursday (August 13), saying the practice was damaging the country’s entertainment industry.
“This growing trend of dragging actors and actresses to courtroom over every little matter is not only shameful but deeply traumatising for our industry. It reflects just how fragile, finicky, and lightweight our show business has become,” she wrote.
Faria also criticised those who encourage such practices in the name of progress.
“It breaks my heart to see people encouraging this culture as if it represents PROGRESS. Taking every disagreement to court is not a forward thinking attitude, it is completely backward. We need more understanding, dialogue, and maturity, not more public humiliation and unnecessary legal battles,” she said.
“This is not progress. This is regression,” Faria added.
However, Nusraat Faria is currently shooting for director Mehedi Hassan Hridoy’s web film “Lapatta”. She is playing the central female character in the film. Nasir Uddin Khan and Joy are also part of the cast.
The comedy thriller is scheduled to be released on OTT platform iScreen during the upcoming Durga Puja.
