Driver killed as paddy-laden trolley overturns in Satkhira

A trolley driver was killed after a paddy-laden trolley overturned on the Satkhira-Jashore road in Sadar upazila here on Wednesday evening. The deceased was identified as Ganesh Sarkar, 45, son of Brinchi Sarkar of Banshtala village under Shibpur union in the upazila.

The accident occurred around 5.30 pm at the three-road intersection in Kadamtala Bazar area when Ganesh Sarkar was going to Kadamtala Bazar carrying paddy on his trolley. When he reached the intersection, he reportedly lost control of the vehicle, causing the trolley to overturn suddenly on the road.

Ganesh became trapped beneath the overturned trolley and sustained critical injuries. Locals rushed him to Satkhira Sadar Hospital, where the duty doctor declared him dead. Confirming the incident, Officer-in-Charge of Satkhira Sadar Police Station Md. Masudur Rahman said the body was handed over to the victim's family after completion of legal formalities.
