Drug dealer held with 100 grams of heroin in Rajshahi

Members of Rapid Action Battalion (RAB) , in a drive, have arrested a drug dealer along with 100 grams of heroin from Belpukur Police Station area of Rajshahi Metropolitan City. The operation was carried out on Wednesday around 6:30 pm in the Belpukur Bypass Railgate Market area. The arrested person, Raihan Ali, is a resident of the Belpukur area of the city.

According to RAB, acting on a tip-off and with the assistance of the RAB Headquarters Intelligence Wing, a team from RAB-5 informed that a drug dealer was staying in the Belpukur Bypass Railgate Market area with the intent to sell heroin collected from border areas. The RAB intelligence team then closely monitored his movements. Later, a raid was conducted at the specified location, and the suspect was detained.

In the presence of witnesses, a body search was carried out, and 100 grams of contraband heroin was recovered from the pocket of his trouser. RAB further stated that the arrested Raihan Ali is a known drug dealer in the area. For a long time, he had been collecting heroin from unknown border locations and supplying it to various retail and wholesale drug dealers in Rajshahi district, according to the arrested confessional statement.

In this connection, a regular case has been filed against the arrested individual at Belpukur Police Station under the Narcotics Control Act.
