Former lawmaker Fazlul Haque dies
Former BNP lawmaker and Hua Thai Ceramic Managing Director GM Fazlul Haque died of old-age complications at a private hospital in the city last night.
He was 79.
Haque was suffering from various old-age complications for a long time. He was undergoing treatment at a hospital in Singapore, said a press release here today. Later, he was brought to the country and admitted to a private hospital in the capital, where he breathed his last, the release added.
Haque was elected as a lawmaker from Chandpur-3 constituency in 1996. His Namaz-e-Janaza will be held at Jatiya Sangsad Bhaban South Plaza at 12 noon today. His second namaz-e-janaza will be held at Baburhat High School and College ground in Chandpur at 11 am tomorrow. Later, he will be buried at his family's graveyard.
