Helal orders strict action to uphold law and order in Khulna-4
Newly elected Parliament Member for Khulna-4, Azizul Bari Helal has said that law-enforcing agencies have been instructed to act firmly to maintain law and order in the constituency. "Clear directives have been given to the administration to ensure peace and discipline in the area. We are united on this matter," he said. Helal made the remarks while addressing a monthly law and order committee meeting and an exchange of views meeting with officials of different departments of Rupsha upazila at the Upazila Officers' Club.
The BNP lawmaker said that his party, Bangladesh Nationalist Party, has adopted a zero-tolerance policy against extortion, terrorism, illegal occupation and drug-related offences. "There will be no compromise with extortionists, criminal encroachers or those involved in narcotics. Such activities will not be tolerated under any circumstances," he said.
The meeting was presided over by Upazila Nirbahi Officer Sanjida Rikta. Among others, Assistant Commissioner (Land) Iftekharul Islam Shamim, Upazila Livestock Officer Dr Md Ahsan Habib Pramanik and Agriculture Officer Tarun Kumar Bala attended the meeting.
