Kidnapped man rescued in Jashore after 9 days
Jahangir Alam, a pharmacy owner, was rescued by members of the RAB-6 Jashore camp on the night of March 11, after being held captive for nine days. The rescue operation took place around 11:30 pm near a brick kiln in Kholsi village, located in the Pashapole Union of Chaugachha upazila. Major ATM Fazle Rabbi Prince, the company commander of RAB-6 Jashore Camp, confirmed the details of the operation.
According to RAB sources, Jahangir Alam was abducted on the night of March 2 while he was returning home from his shop. He owns a business called 'RR Medical and JR Agrovet' in the Shankarpur Medical College area of the town. After the kidnapping, Alam's family filed a complaint with Jashore Kotwali Police Station, prompting a swift investigation. Using information technology and intelligence gathered through covert sources, a RAB team conducted a raid in Kholsi village on Wednesday night.
During the raid, they found Jahangir Alam tied to his motorcycle, near a shed next to the brick kiln. The kidnappers, however, managed to flee before RAB could apprehend them. Following the rescue, Jahangir Alam was taken to the RAB camp, where he was provided medical care. His family was promptly notified of his safe recovery. RAB officials confirmed that Jahangir is in stable health after the ordeal.
